Weekend with the Dolins!

Danielle (Bryan's sister's best friend) and John came up to Bellingham for a wedding, so we had them over for a BBQ along with Bryan's parents and Danielle's mom, Elise! Their little boy, Luke, will only be a few months apart from our little dude, so we're pretty excited about that.  If the two are anything like their dads, then they will be good friends….and nerds. Lol.

Luke broke in our baby swing for the first time, and I had to take a picture. Danielle mentioned they didn't have very many pics of the three of them, so we decided to take more. I didn't have the best lighting to work with (I hate using the flash and forgot to change the iso) but they still turned out cute. Although, the subjects probably had more to do with that than the photographer. :)

I think he liked it!

Mommy and son!

So sweet!

John's serious face!

He loves his parents, I swear! :)

I love that Luke is looking into his dad's eyes!

Babies always have our full attention!

Such a beautiful little family!

Happy Birthday, Bryan!

The love of my life turned 35 today! We celebrated by first going to a prenatal appointment. We asked Bryan's parents if they wanted to go to hear the baby's heartbeat, so we all piled in our Prius and made our way over to Bellingham OBGYN. We learned on the way that our car will comfortably seat four with a carseat. Yay! Our little dude still has a strong heartbeat, and I measured exactly at 37 weeks.

We continued the celebration with dinner at Rock and Rye! I look pretty bloated and worn out in this pic…probably because I am. lol!
Love this guy!
I gave Bryan a custom made Onsie and Bryan's parents are giving him a video camera to record our little dude's life! Thank you, Mick and Chris!

Also, Bryan was challenged by my brother, Shaun, to pour a bucket of ice water on his head within 24 hours to raise awareness for ALS. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday! After we got home from dinner we realized we didn't have a bucket or ice, so we went to Fred Meyers to purchase the necessary items. I'm pretty sure everyone knew what we were up to as we were walking around Freddy's. Video will be posted soon…

Happy Birthday to the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you more than words can describe, and I'm so glad you were born! :)

Dates, Lakes, and Clowns!

Bryan and I figured there's only so much time left where it's just him and me, so we went out on a date Friday night to an awesome new place in Bellingham called Rock and Rye. Seriously, the best crab cakes and pasta I've ever had.

We went to Squire Lake on Saturday which was absolutely beautiful. It's about 15 minutes away from Bellingham and you have to hike up a bit before reaching the lake. I wasn't sure if I could make it to the lake after speaking with a guy who said it was a pretty intense up. Fortunately, I think he was exaggerating for the pregnant lady and it ended up not being too bad.

Sat on a bench with this view for lunch!

picking huckleberries!

yummy!

Cool trail!

I looked over at him on the drive admiring his hair. Just had to take a pic. :)

Saturday night we went on a double date with our friends, Becky and Dennis! We have a lot in common with them and it was so good to see them. We talked for hours about politics, religion, babies, and more! Love them!

Not the best pic (especially of me), but a keeper none the less.

Also, The Boehms came up to Bellingham for a wedding, so we got to see them on Sunday! We all looked at  pictures of Bryan and Jenn when they were little and came across the following pic….

Haha! Seriously, I can't stop laughing!

We also got to play with this cutie!

37 Weeks!

We have reached a milestone today. Baby has officially made it to term. Woohoo! I learned that 37-38 weeks is early term and 39-40 is full term. It's crazy to think he'll be here any day…and hopefully not a day over. :)

On a side note, I had braxton-hicks contractions for the first time yesterday! Fun.

My octopus shirt from Thailand has been used as an excellent maternity shirt.

37 Weeks! I can tell he has dropped recently as evidence by the increased pressure on my bladder.

Books and Paints!

I've been walking with Bryan to work in the mornings and then usually make my way over to one of the quaint little cafes in Fairhaven to rest before walking back home. While there, I started reading this hilarious book called Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year by Anne Lamott. I found it helps distract me from the fact I have to push a baby out of my you know what sometime in the coming weeks. Although, I'm not sure if the following excerpt from this particular book helped…"I couldn't push the baby out, and Pammy and Steve stood by my feet in the labor room for an hour, exhorting, encouraging me to push, telling me how beautifully I was doing. I was in despair. I made a tiny poo on the table, which they didn't mention at the time but which they manage to work into about all two-thirds of all our conversations…." On second thought, maybe I should choose a different book.

Also, painting helps distract me from those thoughts as well. Wish me luck in the next coming weeks and hopefully I don't die of a panic attack! I just have to keep telling myself who I'll get to meet when it's all said and done!

Admittedly,  I saw this idea online and made it my own. I just love all the colors and the fact it represents all seasons…winter, spring, sumer, fall! It was pretty fun to paint!

Womb With A View!

Bryan and I took maternity pics on top of Mt. Baker with http://jenmartinstudios.com! It is so beautiful up there this time of year, but also really windy as you can see with some of the pics! :)  I can't wait to take Baby Wokich hiking!
