"It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine…it's summertime!"

Summary of Summer 2014 -

Summer in Bellingham has been absolutely beautiful! It has been sunny and warm almost everyday. I thought I would be pretty miserable being so pregnant in the heat, but that hasn't really been the case. There have been bad days, but as long as I have a fan or some sort of breeze, I'm okay.

So far, Bryan and I have enjoyed many evening walks along the boardwalk, went on a little getaway to the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island, went to Lake Chelan for the 4th, watched the World Cup, finished decorating baby's room, and attended my good friends wedding reception.

We also had our first joint (boys and girls) baby shower in Bellingham hosted by Bryan's sister and mom. It was the perfect shower with lovely decorations, good food, and an awesome beer tasting contest from five of our breweries here in Bellingham. Most people know I don't necessarily like being the center of attention, so it was so much fun having Bryan there to share some of the attention. Thanks again, Jenn and Chris for all you did to make this happen.

The second shower was in Tri-Cities hosted by my wonderful Aunt Val! She put a lot of effort and work into creating a beautiful shower as well. The theme was travel, and she provided foods from different parts of the world. The decorations were beautiful and the food was amazing! She actually had to have surgery 4 days prior to the shower and had her daughter-in-law, Marilyn, help with preparing and decorating as well. Thanks again, you two. It meant a lot to me!

Also, thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and providing us with essential baby items! I don't know how people have babies without the love and support of family and friends.

Overall, life this summer has been pretty busy getting ready for our little one!

On the ferry to Port Townsend!

This jar was found at our campsite!

Our campsite was right by the water!

So beautiful!

Camping was a bit difficult at this point of my pregnancy! We only stayed one night. At one point Bryan asked how I was doing, and I said "I'm fine, honey, now pull me across the tent."

Had to hike to our campsite to get by the water!

First time at Hurricane Ridge. Stunning!

Hiking up! It was difficult to say the least!

From the top!

Marmots were everywhere! First time I've seen them!

Waiting at the border to go to Vancouver Island! We had an interesting experience with this one. First time they pulled us to the side and searched our car. I have never been asked so many questions, but Bryan believed they thought we were going to try and stay in Canada to have our baby. Not a bad idea, actually. :)

Stayed at the coolest bed and breakfast on Vancouver Island near the beach. It was owned by a very nice couple and it had lots of character. Most importantly, it had a beautiful trail to the beach!

This was one of my favorite cafe/bakeries ever! It was in the middle of nowhere and had some of the best pastries I've eaten.
Cool Tree! I love taking pics of nature!

Bed and breakfast front yard!

Relaxin.

Went to a really nice seafood restaurant. This is a redo of a pic we took in Scotland!

Took this with the timer on my camera to send to my Aunt Val for baby shower invitations!

Started a farm share with a local place called Rabbit Farms. We pay $20 a week and receive the best organic produce! I love knowing where our food is coming from!

Hammock weather is amazing!

I started painting this summer and I have enjoyed it immensely! I've painted a little here and there, and so I was happy to really get into it this time. Painted these for the baby's room!

Looked at land in Bellingham for fun! Eventually, we'd love to buy property and build on it!

Bryan surprised me with a fun date, and we went to a delicious restaurant off of Lake Whatcom called The Fork. It was so so good! I loved the decorations in there and want to do something like this in our house!

Bryan was all about the World Cup. He probably watched at least two matches a day.  I happened to capture the moment when he thought taking off his pants would bring better luck to the USA team. He had no idea I took these pics until later.

We had the honor of watching this mama bird nest for a month! She had three eggs, and here they are freshly hatched.

Captured the sunset on one of our many walks along the boardwalk.

Ended our 8 week course parenting class with these lovely folks!

Attended one of my good friend's wedding reception. Rowdy is on the very right and his new husband, Wayne, is on the very left! So happy for them!

It was so good seeing my best friends from high school! This was taken on the dock off of the Columbia River!

The most amazing sunset happened on the drive back to Bellingham!

Baby Shower in Bellingham!

Baby Shower in Tri-Cities with Mama #1 and #2

With my Aunts on my mom's side!

Took maternity pics on top of Mt. Baker. I'll make sure to post them when they're ready!

Bryan looking pretty snazzy for the pics!

Walked with Bryan to work in the morning during low tide! Taken right off the boardwalk!
